T-shirt Transfer Paper
Consumers Dream Come True
About fifty years ago, the first transfer paper was introduced to the market, more as a novelty item than anything else. The result of these transfers was a huge sheet of thick, rubbery substance on your t-shirt with a custom made design on it. While originally intended as an item of novelty, the introduction of t-shirt transfer paper to the common market uncovered a surprisingly large demand for custom designed and quick t-shirt making.
Transfer paper has evolved technologically along with the rest of the world and todays t-shirt transfer paper comes in a huge variety of types suitable for use with inkjet, laser and even sublimation printers. Most of the cool t-shirts on shelves today, with their fancy logos, unique designs and funny one-liners, are made via a process that utilises transfer paper. Some of them still have an obvious screen with the design on it, ironed on to the clothes. Others are dyed in a heat-pressing process that actually transfers the ink directly onto the fabric, bonding it there at the same time. These are the highest quality image transfers but the truth is, they still require a special kind of transfer paper.
All in all, what started out as a novelty item exploded into a huge industry that has only gained in popularity in the last several years, rather than losing ground to other industries. Custom t-shirts are available to every person, of any background. T-shirts are used to express our personalities and as such, t-shirt transfer paper will remain a marketable product.
